It would set the Pros apart from the Free-Lancers and other wannabes, wouldn't it? ... What's YOUR take?

From personal experience as a hobbyst, always dress for the occasion.
For example when shooting these events (#1) I always wear black.

#1 I wear black

So, where are you, here, Richard ... or, aren't you?

By Black - you don't mean full tuxedo, with tails - do you?

I'm the "official" the photographer and I will have black pants and a black shirt on.

Is this Top Hat, White Shirt, and Tails - Aussie-Style, then, Richard?

So you just shot that, then ....

Then I shoot the concert, and then take my wife home (who is one of the altos).

When I worked at a major film developing and printing lab in the late 1990's thru early 2000's, many professional photographers used to stop by between or after shoots to drop off film, examine test prints, pick up slides, etc. As I recall, most of them had on formal wear - dress pants and button-down shirt, often suit and tie too. They met with important people, and needed to look proper and professional, not sloppy and casual.
I suppose not too much has changed since then.

Even WeeGee wore a suit (somewhat rumpled), a tie (not tied too well) and a hat that once may have been a real fedora.

I carry changes of clothes in the car. Assignments arrive as news breaks, and I can get pulled from a feature story and sent to a fire from a concert or fund-raiser.

Wedding photographers, mostly, I'll bet, Rook ....

That's my point, you see ... there SHOULD be some "proper attire" for ALL photographers - especially, Pro and Press ones ...

Then, it would be easier to tell them apart from the wannabes .... of which, there are far too many, these days ....

Who - for the most part, anyway ... DO dress "sloppy and casual" ....

You mean - her condition - doesn't - get in the way of that, then?
