Hawk Identification?

All you birders out there. I am not sure what kind of a Hawk todays visitor is. My best guess is Copper's Hawk, Marsh Hawk, or Merlin. Location is High Desert Oregon, Prineville, which is 20mi east of Bend Oregon. Size wise, about the same as a Mourning Dove or slightly larger. Any help would be appreciated.

Cool bird! If you have a PP program like LR, the purple fringing can be removed very easily. I hope you don’t mind me pointing it out.

I think you are correct. After reading about the Sharp Shinned Hawk vs the Copper's Hawk. The article stated that if you can walk up on the Hawk and it flys off it's a Copper's and if it stays , it's a Sharp Shinned Hawk. This guy let me get within 10ft of him. Thanks...

Based on your size estimate, it's either a juvenile female sharp-shinned hawk or a juvenvile male Cooper's hawk. To be certain I'd have to see the tail shape.
Cooper's has a larger head than a sharpy in relation to the body size, but best told by how far the head sticks out in front of the wings when in flight. Tough call in standing position.
