Many people from around the world feel the same way. I have a bunch of friends that do climb Half Dome or El Capitan frequently, but I understand mom's concern especially after the massive rock slide that happened shortly after this picture was taken...

Out of all my travels in N. America the last 20 years, Yosemite is one of the 5 I want to return to. Beautiful pics.

Nice photos of Yosemite.
When I was young and first saw the word "Yosemite" in print I thought it was pronounced Yosemite, as in Yosemite Sam. To my chagrin I later found out it was pronounced Yosemite, as in Yosemite Sam.

My GPS pronounces it a Yo-semm-ite and my Mongolian friend called it Yoshimo, which was even more hilarious! I'm having a hard time to go back to normal pronunciation after that.. 😁
