Anybody out there use Hasselblad cameras?
I am sure some of the more wealthy members do.
I have a niece who inherited a Hasselblad but has never used it! I've tried to coax her into selling it to me but she wants to keep it. Oh well. I have a Mamiya 645 that I like, so that's O.K.

No, but I always dreamed of owning one-just too expensive!
I don't but if I were to go to medium format, a 500C/M would be the one!

I have a 500CW and three lenses; 40mm, 80mm, and 120mm macro. I also have the winder, two A12 backs, two A24 backs, flash, bellows shade, and extension tube. I hope to have enough time before the end of the year to go out a shoot a roll or two of black and white film. You have no idea how much I miss that taste of the glue once the roll is done. It's what keeps us Hasselblad owners going. I hope some day to get a digital back for it. I would like to look into the X1D. It doesn't look much bigger than a Canon or Nikon full frame and yet a hell of a lot better image quality wise.
I have a H3D II /39 got it for 3400 from Adorama and picked up a 80mm lens off ebay for about a grand and then found a Imagebank II for 500, haven't shot a lot of pics yet but have a shoot scheduled in a month or so for some portraits. Its big and heavy and not as versatile as DSLR but superb in its place.
One of the greats. Probably the most used pro camera of it's time, almost everyone portrait/wedding photographer shot with one. Is basically a sq. tube that you attach film backs, could change film speed mid shoot, and lenses made by Zeiss with leaf shutters so can flash sync at any speed.
Hasselblad has puts its celebrated name to some ill advised ventures in recent years. The Hasselblad Lunar was a reconstituted Sony NEX-7 with a weird wooden grip and a six or seven times mark-up in price. The travesty was repeated with the the Stellar which was a wood gripped Sony RX100. Hasselblad also put their name on the more recent True Zoom Moto Mod clip-on smart phone lens. A change in management has promised to stop these gimmicks and to refocus on serious equipment.
yes I have used Hasselblads for over 40 years

YES, joenardella - me! I was a Hasselblad user and owner 26 years. 500c, 500el, SWC, 4 A12 film magazines, 5-lenses: 40mm f4, 50mm f4, 80mm f2.8, 150mm f4, 250mm f5.6 - SWC 38mm f4.5 The very best medium 120 film format camera ever! BIG, BIG, $ollars !!! All my Hasselblad equipment is sold. 120 film may be hard to get processed.
Their upgrade in digital is even much, much, higher in price. Hasselblad H5D-200C 50MP $44,995.00 some computers cannot hold 50MP INFO.
Ask any questions you wish . . . CIAO, AP
LEICA is another way to go. They also have a 37.5MP but their LEICA Lenses cost more than Hasselblad.

I have a 500CM with the 80mm 2.8 lens, from my wedding days. It's a finely made camera.
