As for suggestions, just be patient and wait for people to be out of your way. It was very crowded Saturday when I attended..
I used my 18-55 mm lens and my 35mm, but my camera is Nikon d7100 so the 35 is like 55....also the 35mm is a 1.8 so much easier with the night time photo's...
Enjoy yourself Wednesday it really is a beautiful thing to see in person....
Side note: The Christmas lights start Nov 17th..
