Our wedding today is at a 5 star resort located in our home town of Paso Robles .. The Allegretto Resort.

Went over yesterday with my light stand holder of 18 years to check out the setting and check exposures ...

Should be a fun shoot today ..

Jerry, you really have some stunning locations in your neck of the woods.
Around here, we get excited about things like barns and corn fields around here.

We are spoiled ... I must add we usually get great looking brides. I can't remember the last bride we photographed that was on the 'large' size. I've studied how to best pose a large bride but we've never had the chance. Occasionally my BH will push in a mom's stomach but that's about it.

LOL...... you're killing me. "never had a chance" With our beautiful "corn fed" brides here, we rarely get the chance to "not worry" about how to pose them, and what's more difficult, how to pose them without making them feel self conscious.

I had a guy shoot with me once.....ONCE.... who would say things like "move this way, it will hide your arm flab," or "doing this will help hide your chins" (CHINS!!!) I honestly turned him loose before the cake cutting. Big people (including me) know we're big, but don't want to (or have to ) be reminded of it.

As I always say, psychology is a HUGE part of what we do. Since I work in a mental hospital, it probably helps. Plus, the "family discount" is pretty good.

I would never point out the 'flaw' .... but you can camouflage without saying a word. Bouquet placed in front of her belly, turn at 45 degrees, used the groom's arms/hands to cover up her flabby arms .... don't need to say a word, just do it ;)

Around here, we get excited about guns, cars and antique tractors. I had one wedding with all three in the shoot. As a friend told me, some folks are just "easy to see."

What does one pay for a photographer and second for the day?

Here the price starts at about $2800 and goes up, several in the $4000 - $5000 range

In my immediate area, I'm lucky to get &500 for a single shooter. I don't shoot much.

I do have to add that I live in a "depressed" area - meaning a high welfare area. Cost of living is low and my house is paid for, so....here is where I am at.

starts around $2000 and goes as high as $5000. The odd newb will come in at $1500 (where I started)
Some will shoot as low as 400-500 for a civil service and a few pics...

I am trolling in the $995 range but that is because I only go word of mouth and am stuck in the cheap category. Most photographers here in central Ohio start at $2k and go up.
