Our grandchildren are studying the American Civil War and of course, the thing to do was to visit Gettysburg. So, we made the trip last week, all ten of us living for three days in a 37' travel trailer! We did the battlefield tour using an auto tour cd (excellent, BTW) as well as commentary from Paul's dad who is an avid Civil War buff. The weather wasn't the greatest - the sky was a flat, featureless grey and it mizzled off and on all day, but we all had a great time and the children came away with memories that made history come alive, which is what homeschooling is all about!
WOW! You're brave! But what a treat for those kids. Nicely done. Visiting those battlefields is truly a moving experience.

Thank you! It was a fun experience even though ten in a trailer is a wee bit cramped
I was 12 years old the last time I visited there and this time I knew much more of its history.
Makes me more determined to visit Gettysburg some day. Nice shots.
Great set. My family and I were just there in September. It was our first time and I would definitely go back again.

Hope you had better weather than we did - was it your shot of the cannon facing the rising sun? It was beautiful!
Looks like fun. That's a pretty big trailer.
Absolutely beautiful pictures. Thanks for sharing.
We did have beautiful weather on our trip. The cannon shot was mine, thank you for looking at it. We are also a home schooling family so for us this was a field trip :-). Thanks again for sharing your photos.

It's a wonderful lifestyle, isn't it? We hsed our daughter from 6th grade through high school and she's now doing it for her five.

We had a great time. The trailer is 37' with three bump-outs but it was still pretty crowded with 10 of us! Daughter and her husband took it on a 4 week trip out west with their five children - their eldest daughter (12) was totally burned out having to share such small living quarters with her younger siblings for all that time!
We really enjoy it and our kids do as well.
