My name is Mary, and I have been watching you talented Hedgehogs for a few months. I finally decided to introduce myself and say "hello." I received my first DSLR for my birthday 5 years ago, and although my brain often acts like a sieve instead of a sponge I have been trying to learn all I can about photography. Perhaps with practice I will take a photo worthy of posting here on UHH. Until then I will continue to observe the best from the shadows. I can't get enough of the pictures posted here; you people are amazing!

Welcome Mary. I was nervous to post my first photo here a few years ago but I needn't have been. For the most part there are mostly decent people hanging out here. If you've been watching for a while you know there's a few clunkers but that's what the ignore button is for. Glad you're here.

Go ahead and post, particularly if you have some photos you don't know what to do with. There are some pretty experienced minds here and you can learn a lot from their observations.

Don't be afraid to post some pics. Nobody is going to ridicule you. The worse that will happen is that they won't leave a comment. Make a commitment to post say, once a month. That will make you get out and shoot and try to improve.

Hi Mary, welcome to UHH. You took the biggest step in signing on. The rest is easy. We are all here to help you. Post some of the pictures you have taken around your home. People are always interested in where hoggers live. Have no fear, everyone here, myself included, will only give you encouragement and advice on how to "do it better." And don't be afraid to ask questions. You will be surprised how many answers you will get. (And also the variety of answers.) But all in good humor.
