I'm Larry. Retired Navy Hospital Corpsman/Biomed Tech and part time (then) back up x-ray technician. I am also retired as an Electronmicroscopist with scanning electron microscopes (SEM) and Transmission Electron Microscopes (TEM) when I worked for a semiconductor manufacturer. Your subject or sample goes inside your microscope. Strictly black & white photography here as an x-ray beam is invisible to the naked eye! SEMs can magnify from 20x or higher as a minimum to more than 500KX and captures images of the face of a sample that is usually prepped and coated with gold or other metal to prevent charging a sample with a distracting & destructive glow. The TEM requires a highly prepped sample that is polished to less than the thickness of a cellophane wrapper usual from a metal like silicon. Magnifications generally range from 2K to 1.5MX. Talking or even a mild cough may shake the microscope and take away to chance to electronically focus the coils. Medical uses of each require other types of preparation with stains and such in a manner I can not explain.

Now I take photos of family headstones as I can get to the cemeteries for my family tree!

Thanks Motorbones! I inherited humor as a package deal from my Mom. I find humor in many things. Stopping may be the hard part. I also worked a year in a commercial bakery doing English Muffins. After half a year, I finally found something less appealing than military chow hall food!

Hi Larry,
Welcome to the Forum.
Lots of great people here. One or two may be on the sarcastic side but I have always gotten help when I needed it.
