Anyone know what causes these darker spots on my photos. They can be easily removed , but I suppose i should get it fixed if it is something on the sensor? Darkening the sky makes them stand out more.

Could be a dirty sensor or a UFO

I had spots like those on a sensor turns out all I needed was a Giottos rocket air blower. It took the spot right out!

Dirty sensor. It can be cleaned at a good camera store. You can do it yourself, but be careful. Good videos are available.

That's dust on the sensor. If your camera has the ultrasonic sensor cleaner try that first. The next thing is to use a good filtered blower. I use the Koh Global Hepa Jet Air II blower. It has a large hepa filter that filters out 99.97% of dust particles, an anti-static filter, a one-way check valve, and the bulb is made of medical grade PVC. Mose blowers have a rubber bulb that can shed fine particles. The medical grade PVC bulb won't do that. Adorama Camera carries it and you can order it directly from Koh.

As you said, "easily removed." If the rocket doesn't do it, you could clean the sensor, but it's really not that bad.

If you decide to clean the sensor yourself, beyond using a blower, make sure you learn how to do it correctly, or have it done professionally. It's not hard, but it's a little different than wiping the front of your lens.

Dust on the sensor, it does occur and the sensor needs cleaning or just remove the spots in LR develop module pot removal tool if there are only a few dust spots

Definitely alien spacecraft in that setting! I just knew that movie was not fictional, but nobody would listen to me. :)

try using a different lens. If you get the same spots, at the same place it is the sensor, if not it is the lens

I took similar pictures there just about a year ago during a marathon series in the center of the nation. The spots were not there last year though.
