The giant golden-crowned flying fox (Acerodon jubatus), also known as the golden-capped fruit bat, is a rare megabat and one of the largest bats in the world. The species is endangered and is currently facing the possibility of extinction because of poaching and forest destruction. It is endemic to forests in the Philippines. Panasonic DMC-GX8 OLYMPUS M.75-300mm F4.8-6.7 II

You have some excellent images! Thanks for sharing them, plus their history. If we humans were left to our own devices, we would destroy every species on earth.

Thanks, and I am afraid you are right, even in the City where I took these photos, the government recognizes the problem but convincing some of the locals is not easy.

This is something I've never seen before and are fantastic shots!! Sad reading your info that the population of these creatures are dwindling.... as with your avatar, so are the monarchs :-(
