We hear and see much about the current crop of teenagers, that is not always a positive image.
Here's just one group of teenagers from the other side of the coin.
Check out how they enjoy and appreciate each other and relish in the music (jazz) they play.

If you enjoyed this, you'll find lots of HS jazz bands in competition to the right on YouTube or by Googleing.
Enjoy,
Mark

Thanks markngolf!

Yes, great bands!
My grandson played in the Jazz band at his HS and won many honors and awards for his Alto and Bass Saxophone playing!
Great music from such a small HS too!

Thanks again for sharing! I sent this link to him although he has graduated two years prior to date.

I'm sure you are very proud of your grandson! I played trumpet in Grammar & HS and continued playing for many years. My grandson plays trumpet. I (gently)
try to expose him to jazz. Not so easy with today's music scene for kids. Music is such a wonderful addition in one's life.
Thanks for your comments.

It's really great to see more young women developing as good players. They bring a passion that isn't always presented by the young men. Good female alto and guitar players especially in this band!

Yes, it is. I think young women are encouraged to participate more than in the past. One can find women involved in jazz in the past, but not so readily. It's a good sign to see they are more involved in today's jazz. One of my favorite classical trumpet players is Alison Balsom. She's fantastic!!

They are very good. They are very popular in town. Our next neighbor's son has been in the band all four years of high school. He graduated this year. They worked exceedingly hard all year. He was often out of the house by six in the morning for a practice session. He's the sax player at the left end of the front row of the section.
