Gasoline is Up about Twenty-five Cents per Gallon
When oil refineries stop refining because of a hurricane, you can expect gasoline prices to rise. Our local prices went from $2.25 to about $2.50 overnight.

Jerry, correct and sam in our area. Also without them being shutdown gas prices usually go up on Labor day weekend.
Wholesale prices have been down and cutting into their profits. This, along with the normal Labor Day increases stick it to America again. Not a surprise to any who pay attention.
In Houston here,--if the sign states $1.99 the station is closed with that pre-flood price. I paid $2.40 and most pumps were covered!
Well, we paid $4.16 a gal. back in 2008 on Sunday night in the boonies of northern Arizona, glad to find the station. So I'm not going to cry about a little rate hike to $2.56 we had to pay this morning, totally expected with the refineries affected.
Yeah, had lunch with my work buddies today and stopped at Costco to fuel up. Seems everybody had the same idea. $2.449 for Premium.
So darn glad I'm not in the rat race-even if it is the long dreaded fixed income. 😁 Thank God we saved like squirrels.
The oil industry uses any excuse to screw more money out of us; they have not missed a beat as long a sI have been alive and America falls for the scam every time.

The other day the price was $2.19 - drove into Great Bend, KS yesterday the price was $2.29 - drove home a couple hours later, price was $2.39 - haven't checked today...
sure did go up....
I paid 2.11 Monday for my truck....Today I had to put gas in my wife's car and it was 2.59...
I figure it well be over 3 by Saturday and next we well be in a shortage
Our fuel comes out of Texas, I think yours does also Jerry if I'm not mistaken
Even if the gas in their tank and the one in delivery systems is not from Texas, it's just an excuse to milk us out a few more dollar

They have never missed a beat. The truth is that, one, they have a huge reserve of gas all over the country and secondly, they refine it all over the country. So with the refineries are out of commission in that one area, it only means that they will be pulling on reserves to supply the area and they will be replenished as soon as they are back up a running. Where is the extra expense? They think we are so stupid and unfortunately in most cases they are right!
We ordered diesel for a generator in Dallas yesterday and the first company we called didn't have any fuel. The second we called said they would be out soon. There is plenty of fuel, they just can't get it to where it needs to go.
They closed the pipeline from teaxs to nc,many places here will be running out,and prices will be going up more. Paid $2.49 about an hour ago.

I'll take that. I'm in NL, Canada for the summer. $1.25 per LITRE here and our dollar is worth about 70 cents U.S.
Here in Tampa it went from $2.19 to 2.49 overnight!
