Hey all! New to the forum and thrilled to be here. My husband knows my passion for photography and told me about this site, and I immediately joined. So, who am I? Mostly I'm just a hack that loves photography. I'm a Mom (3 amazing kids of my own and another by marriage), a Grandma of 3 (soon to be 4), a wife, a sister, a daughter, a student, a writer, and so much more. Photography is my escape. It allows me to look at the world in a different way. I've been fascinated by photographs and cameras since I was a small child and, at one time, had collected old cameras. My mother once called me a 'Photo-holic Camera Junkie' and she was right. I took my first photo class in 4th grade (an after school program to encourage children in the arts) and was hooked. I started with a good, old fashioned, Kodak Instamatic. It was what it was, and eventually, most of the pictures turned red, but it served its purpose and fuelled my addiction. By Jr. High I had moved on to a cheap 35mm by some obscure company that no longer exists, but again, it served its purpose. I learned to develop my own pictures and some other basics, but little else. At some point, I turned to photography books to learn a few things. This was a wasted effort, for while I loved to read, these manuals were so technical I couldn't keep my eyes open long enough to learn anything. So, I just started experimenting. Sometimes, I was successful. Mostly I ended up with blurry, out of focus, far too dark (or light), shots of who knows what. I have improved vastly over time! And, thanks to my wonderful husband, I now have a Nikon D3300 with which to feed my passion.

I'm hoping to learn how to use the new camera in newer and better ways. I have a long way to go, but I'm loving the path! I hope to get a few of my better shots up soon. Thanks for reading, and I look forward to meeting some of you!

You will find subject matter on most aspects of photography and many of the vids are FREE. The great part is you can learn at your leisure. Return to where you left off anytime you please. Of course, their are many other great places on the internet but this one really taught me tons about photography. It should fire up your passion to be the best photographer you can.
