Is autumn the best time to take pictures? Is there a season that's better?

Absolutely, Less moisture in the air brings out the color and as the article says the sun is at a lower angle that produces a softer color... Love the fall for shooting, hate the fall because it signals the beginning of winter, dark cold and full of snow! :-)

Totally agree. Much crisper colors, not to mention the riot of color in the foliage.
