Yes, refurbs are the way to go.

I have seen certain on-line sellers recommended here, but not this one (that I recall). How have people found them, specifically for buying refurb equipment?

How would you compare them to Cameta or some of the others more frequently mentioned?

You have only been here a short time or you would have heard about the ABC's proclaimed here numerous times. Adorama, B&H,Cameta and frequently KEH.

There are certainly reliable others mentioned as well. If you find a lower price that usually will be a sign to investigate the lower price provider carefully. The forum "SEARCH" function can often provide good feedback.
