Thanks angela k. It always amazes me how quickly these moments fade. Such beauty in nature--all gone in an instant.

I appreciate you looking.

And that's why capturing it in camera is important!!!

Thanks for looking jeanbug. I do appreciate it. Glad I'm still young enough to "chase rainbows" literally!

Thanks Dixiegirl. The pot was photographically full, but sadly, there was no gold......

Thanks for commenting.

Excellent capture, treadwl. Sometimes taking photos is hard work.

Fabulous photo of this amazingly bright rainbow Larry. And I also noticed a much fainter second rainbow to the left of the subject one. Your excellent photo of this rainbow reminds me once again of the familiar old saying that timing is everything.

The download is gorgeous Larry, love the colours and light. Well worth the 'work out'.

Captured on the Alpine Tundra just moments before sunset. This rainbow suddenly appeared after a deluge. I ran more than a quarter mile to get in this position as I searched for a composition. Just after I took this shot I was pelted by heavy hail (almost half inch size) and the rainbow quickly faded. I was soaked and freezing, but I like the resulting photo. I always say, bad weather makes good photos. Please view on dark background (use download)

Thanks for looking.

Nice shot Larry.

Thank you tbell. The biggest challenge was trying to get a workable composition. I was too far from the valley to get closer thus the dark section on the left. It is hard to compose when you are running in the rain. You can even see some of the rain drops in the download. But yes, it is timing all the way.

Thanks for looking.
