Hi from Oregon. I have been an active bird watcher for about 25 years but just started photographing birds for about 2 years. My camera is a Nikon D7100 with a Tamron 150 600 lens. Things started out pretty rough but starting to come together and I just love it.

Aloha jim-bob and welcome to UHH. You have a fantastic setup with your camera and lens. Would love to see some of your photos. The best thing is to go out and take lots of photos and critique them. Post some here and you'll get some great advice. Therein thing is for you to go out enjoy and have fun.

Welcome to the forum. Good combination, I use a 7200 with a Sigma 150-600 Sport. Do you have a good tripod and Gimbal head yet? That's what helped me the most.

Thank you for the welcome. Right now I'm using a slik 700bhx tripod with a ball head and a Benro mono pod. I'm 6'4" and they both go up high enough for me.
