I shot this through the door of a bar in Arlon, southern Belgium, last week.

For some reason the system wouldn't let me do a larger version for download :-(

Very nice capture. I like the intensity of whatever the man is doing as well as the excellent toning of the image. /Ralph

I walked past the bar and looked in and I was two steps past the door and I thought "That's a shot" so I went back and he was still completely preoccupied in same position. I thought " He is not going to take any notice of me with my camera" so I took the shot. I really wasn't expecting such accolades, this is only the second picture I have put up. I hope I haven't peaked early.

I do like your portrait. It was good of him to position his hands in such a fine way. Regarding posting, when you're choosing your photo, there's a small square box labeled (store original) just past the "Browse" button. Check that box. I've sent shots larger than a megabyte without problem. And, of course, post some more photos.

Hi Voss, I do appreciate a positive comment from you.

Regarding the download, I did check the small box you mentioned and no download appeared so I took the post down and started again from scratch, with the same result.
I have just checked the image I posted and it was 2.6Mb so maybe that was a problem. Maybe it was a system glitch?
I do have more to post but if I put everything up at once then I will have nothing left :-)

If the image being uploaded is 600 pixels or less across no original can be stored, just the thumbnail.

So size an image to larger than 600 pixels across and smaller than 20 MB in size.

Most straight from the camera JPEGs are good, but many photogs want to reduce a posted image to maybe only 1000 to 2000 pixels wide to avoid a high enough quality that it might be stolen for commercial use.

I thought images had to be 800x600 pixels--is that wrong?

I am not the right one to answer that, I still have 'L' plates on.
I think we should wait for Apaflo to make another guesting and get a definitive answer.

I fully agree. Post one a day, and make the pleasure last. That's what I try to do unless I get choked up with a particular topic, and y'all would get bored to death if I spread them out.
