I have the lens and GX8. It is wonderful. The GX85 came later and has some improvements in the shutter, stabilization and video. No, the improvements are not so significant that I would trade. The lens is terrific.

If you want an Olympus camera, buy Olympus lenses!

Choosing a camera is a very subjective matter. Only you can decide which one of those cameras is best for you and my recommendation if you have a photo store near by is that you try them.
The ergonomics, features and handling will help you make a final decision.

The GX8 does not use Dual IS when shooting 4K. The others do.

Thank you all. Your experience and answer are very helpful.
The GX8 will be the one to get. Especially when using that big lens. The dual IS will be very helpful. I use to hand hold the Tamron 200-500 no IS, WAS NOT EASY.

The Panasonic bodies will function the best with a Panasonic lense. The 100-400 Panasonic lense will shoot on the Olympus, but I believe that the lense IS does not function. That means you have to rely on the in body 5.5 stops of stablization instead of a combined 6.5. I have the Olympus 50-200 and the 2X teleconveter (100-400) and it is handhold, with technique and care, without lense IS. If you do a lot of video, get the Panasonic. If you do stills, consider the Olympus. It may come down to which one gives you the most bang for the buck and which one feels best in your hands.

I have the Olympus EM1 MK II with battery grip and the Panasonic 100-400mm lens. It is a great combination. I know that the EM 10 is smaller and I would have some concern about the size of the 100-400 on that body. Best bet is to try the combination at a good camera store before purchasing. Good luck with making a decision. If you are new to m43, I think you will like the size of the system.
