It could depend on what camera you are using or what post processing software you use or what operating system you use. On my Windows 10 I can remove it on a single photo by right clicking and selecting properties. I use lightroom tho and have it set to strip it from all exported photos.

Even when i try to remove it the GPS info wont go away

Use exiftool. You can do one, or any number.

Did you fly that thing somewhere that you shouldn't have? It would seem that location data in an EXIF file is pretty harmless, otherwise.

Unless they've changed it, Paint Shop Pro automatically removes it.

I don't use Lightroom. The only way I know of is to copy the image and paste into a new image, using Photoshop. It works for me.

You didn't say what kind of camera you have I have 7DM2 and I don't turn the GPS on

all these people flying them into places where they shouldn't is the reason why we needed to get licensed, again the government found a way to punish the good people for the actions of the bad people. The people flying illegality will never get a 107 and most likely have never even registered the drone (even though you are not required to now). Fly safe and legal and you will have a hobby you can enjoy for a long time.
