Here are the last of the Corvettes. These are the newer modals 2012 to the present.
All of the people who own and drive the newer corvettes agree that there is no conparrision between the old and new corvettes. With the tech.of the new models and the motors that are in them that can produce speeds of 150 mph and more and have all the comfort of any of the hi end cars that are on market today. However they do argee that the covettes of the 60s were the best looking cars on the road and still are.
IMHO, the worst thing that ever happened to GM design was the Transformer franchise.
Great series.
Well taken.
I prefer the 60s models, in a convertible, of course,
Nice to look at. And appreciate the work and money put into the show cars. But, to own? Not I, I'll stick to a stocker that can be a daily driver.
Yes, there is a time to leave a good thing alone. Big example is the 55 T-Bird which evolved into an Edsel like Family-Sedan.... Yuck. The Corvette was introduced in late 54, we "Speed Shifters" went down at lunch our from Grand Blanc H-S to Yerkie's Chev Dealership to look-see.... aaaa and look at what they have evolved into... all they need is the musical horns that play 9 Tunes!! And of course the air shocks that make them bounce at stoplights like in a Cheech/Chong movie.
Where are the Chrysler La Baron [Maserati Design] and Classic Mustang lines in today's cars... ?
Great pics. Really like the 1st pic. Great color. However that is not a 2012. It's a C3, Mako type. Not sure of the year but somewhere between 1968 and 1982 probably a 68. Thanks for sharing.

The only corvette I didn't like were the C-4's The styling was very "flat" to my eye. I like my C-6, it's my daily driver with over 100k miles. I did change the radio for something better. Thanks for sharing your photos.
Very good Barry, my favorite car since 1953.

Not to be a kill joy, but, the first model year of the corvette was 1953. I know because I drooled over them. And of course I have a model of one in my living room... Only came in white with a straight six with dual carbs and a 3 speed trans... Completely agree with you on the Tbird. I am honored to say I got to drive one of those baby's back in the day...

Totally agree. I think it was the dividing strip between the upper and lower portions of the body panels that went completely around the car. Your 'vette is awesome. One of the nicest of the newer styles. As a sexagenarian I will stop and drool over any 'vette from 1967, my absolute favorite.
The first one that is orange is a 1970-1974 I believe

There is a guy in my neighborhood that has a '67 he bought new. 427ci/435hp coupe. Not a mark on this car, absolutely showroom. It is very nice, I see why you like them. Thanks for the compliment.

WOW! If that car's a 4 speed one sold for over $500K this year. It's a 6 figure car for sure. And you're very welcome!

I think he knows, he recently bought a newer model and only brings the '67 out once a month or so. It has somewhere around 40k miles.
Thank you all for looking and for the comments.
