Hi folks...Three free days in a row will be dull so I would like to mix them in with the upcoming Challenge, Playing and I hope Dane won't mind.
Here's the deal, because summer arrives on Wednesday how about mixing the two Challenges? Supposing that it is a dull day, nothing on TV or whatever so you decide to play aroud with your photos. Great! They do not have to be five star photos, just productions from trying stuff out....
This one I posted a bit ago but there are two photos there, the same river but on the right id further downstream
Then there is thise one, keeps train speeds down
Enlightened berries
High tide ....I told them guys over there not to move until I had finished shooting..
A Saturday evening
Some local flooding

The HDR photos look like? I don't know what but not very appealing.

They can be worked in many manners..when I am playing aorund I will go to the extremes just to see what I get. True HDR are 3 - 5 shots each in different settings, f'instance 1/30 a second one at 1/50 and a third at 1/10 and they are combined and post processed from there.
I'll take a shot at the "free" aspect of the thread.
The below shot was taken at the edge of my yard several years ago. This past Saturday I had one of his brothers come trotting through the yard. I said hello but he just looked at me and casually trotted off into the woods.
I live about 500 feet from where I grew up and I don't recall the amount of wild life being around here including coyotes but many other things such as wild turkey, fishers, etc. I'm not complaining. I enjoy seeing the wild life, including the coyotes.

Had one of those in our back yard...scary creatures! They attacked two dogs in our area and killed them both! We have invested in a 6 ft. page fence with coyote roller bars to keep them out..We never leave our dogs in the
fence if we aren't here! Apparently their fav. meal is cat-drop in that population also...

We had a cat that disappeared about 10 years ago. I believe that it was a fisher that got it. The fishers thrive on small animals and they are tough critters. I see them going through the woods behind me occasionally but they are pretty much elusive.
One day a group of about 20 wild turkeys, male and female adults and young, were in the yard when I heard a commotion from them. Looking out I saw a coyote sitting near them and eying the young ones. The turkeys stood their ground as did the coyote. This went on for over a half hour until the coyote decided that he did not want to take on the adult turkeys. He gave them a wide berth and walked off up my driveway.
We also get this guy and his relatives come through the yard. There is a much prettier red fox that comes through but has never stuck around long enough for me to get a photo. Someday.

Yes, that fox looks really healthy-beautiful, full tail! We have red ones here, I agree , they are much prettier . Smart little devils, for sure! We also have
turkeys, deer, raccoons and an occasional brown bear - even a moose on very rare occasions...It's a lot of fun to watch them running free! Safe distance
and telephoto lens!
