I ran across this in today's local paper. I mostly use Photoshop Elements but this looks good.

If GIMP had a more friendly menu system, at least friendlier than the last version I used, it might be more popular. I just didn't like their menu structure.

I haven't downloaded and tried it yet. At one time I used Picasa for simple editing (crop, brightness, and contrast) but it's no longer around.

I have tried many of the large number of free editing programs. It is personal preference which one you end up using. It costs nothing but some time to try them out. If you like Picasa it is still available. Just ask the Great Google.

Yep, I tried GIMP before going with Lightroom (and now Photoshop) and found it very difficult to learn and use and I was pretty much a professional software learner at work.
Professional software learner: I did high end 3D modeling and printed circuit design and was my company's CAD and Product Data Manager administrator.
I found LR & PS easier to learn and use.

I just tried Picasa and it's working now. Must have been a computer glitch the last time I tried it. Thanks for pointing out the fact.

I tried a trial edition of Photoshop but it was far more than I needed. I never tried Lightroom. Elements does everything I need.

I sometimes use GIMP. It is complex and difficult to learn.

It's got to be easier than Photoshop.
