For those who use Photomatix Pro, be advised that Version 6 was just released. It appears that users who purchased Version 5 get a free upgrade; users who purchased Version 4 or earlier can upgrade for $29.

There are some new features, but, based on my initial trial, it looks like the main thing that Version 6 provides is more realistic-looking results.

Thanks! I clicked on the update link, but it's still waiting, waiting, waiting...

On another site, I entered my email address, but they couldn't find me. I sent them an email, so I'll see what happens. I bought v4 and upgraded free to v5, so I guess $29 will get me v6.

I purchased 4, upgraded to 5 for free, but it seems then that 6 will cost me $29. Downloaded 6 and selected the trial. The interface is a little different. I am going to experiment for a while and see if it is worth the upgrade.

Thanks for the heads up...mine updated (v. 5.1.3 for free) just fine. It does have a different interface. It also now allow finer control and blending the HDR version with a non-HDR image. Thanks again...

I have had Photomatix for years but don't remember which version I have. It is on my desktop computer but I am currently on my laptop. I will have to check what I have later. I did update it once for free but when I tried to update it a second time they said I wasn't eligible - I would have to buy it again for $99, which I didn't do. If I can update for $29 that would be nice, so I will have to see.

In your current version click Help and then Check for Updates. It will take you to the download page automatically.

EDIT: I tried again, and the $29 upgrade went through. Installed and running.

For any of those who may use, or tried, both, why do you use Photomatix over LR CC?
