Just thought I would share a few additional recent shots. I am really enthralled with the look of the male Eared Grebes and can't get enough of that red eye. This one seems special to me with the coloration of the water. As I was sitting in the weeds on side of one of our lakes shooting the Grebe, the Mallard hen along with her 8 chicks decided to stroll by. The chicks were oblivious to me, but the mother kept a watchful eye on me to make sure I was not a threat. We are all really pleased all 8 chicks have made it this far. These were taken with a Canon 600mm plus 1.4X converter (840mm) mounted to a 5DIV. Tripod mounted on a Mongoose 3.6 gimbal head. For you IS on or off while on a tripod debaters, IS was on (as always), Mode 2. 1/2700 to 1/3200, f/5.6, ISO 800.
Hope you enjoy. Comments or suggestions are always appreciated.

I agree. I don't seem to be able to get enough "eye's". Kind of looks like he is checking out his own reflection Thanks for looking.
Beautiful set, Frank--especially the eared grebe!
