I am an avid film maker using several video cameras for some of my work, including DSLRs and Sony HD. My main editing platform is Adobe Premiere Pro, which has serve my well so far; recently I downloaded a trial version of On1 Power Director 15, which seems to be somewhat faster than Premiere; however, I find that while editing .264 or .265 video I get a message indicating that my nVidia GForce video cards need updated software. Downloading the video drivers has not helped matters and I get the same message. Is anyone familiar with this problem or is it possible the trial software does not support the 1920x1080, 30p mode?

Here is the limitations on the trial version from their website:
Limitations

30-day trial version
Limited template pack
NewBlue effect pack limited to 10 effects
Does not include CyberLink WaveEditor
Importing and producing H.264 video files is only supported on Windows 10/8.1/8/7 systems or hardware platforms offering independent H.264 encoding and decoding
Watermark appears at the beginning of produced videos (5 seconds)
2K/4K resolution H.264 video files are not supported
Importing and producing H.265 video files is not available
.............................
So H.265 is not available on the trial version and H.264 only supported on Windows 10/8.1/8/7 systems. If you have the correct OS it seems the H.264 should work at 1920x1080 30P. If not, maybe they have a help line or help forum?

I'm curious to know why you are switching from Premiere Pro to Power Director. I know Premiere Pro can be slow to render. I usually have a meal while it is rendering.

Thank you very much for the info. I can see now why I could not get either H.264 or H.265 to work since I am using Windows 7. On standard resolution video clips Power Director seemed to fly, where Premiere has always been much slower. I guess I will stick to Premiere since my experience with Windows 10 has been disastrous. Thanks again.
