On my monitor the ruins show as quite bright and reddish, kind of not what I'd expect, though I have no idea what is "normal" - ha! I do love the contrast between lush jungle and the man-made temple. Is there historical significance and importance to this particular site?

So it is true, If neglected, the land will take back what was taken from it. Remarkable image which makes me want to linger a bit, hunt for meaning.... Or just enjoy the contrasts and color.

Interesting that you chose to shoot this straight on and centered. I think it works. It makes me curious to know how it actually looked when it was not a ruin.

Interesting shot Mr. Smith, I wonder if you have a perspective from the left looking back right to show a touch more of the other arch..or maybe it was just too grown up.

Ah, yes. The jungle will reclaim anything that isn't maintained. I've seen lots of scenes like these. Like Linda, I'd like to know if this is the natural colour. It does look a tad reddish in tone - even the greens. I know how precise you are, so I assume that this is the natural look.

What could be more fascinating than coming upon an old ruined temple in a jungle? Nicely done, has a vintage sort of look to it. Great detail. I encountered a challenge in Mexico with similar scenes though the temples were more ruined than this, and could not get satisfied with any angle I tried. Ended up shooting straight on, like you.

I wonder if cropping some of the white sky real estate from right and top might give more emphasis to the ruins? But I'm sure you considered all possibilities before you settled on this one.

An intriguing image that allows me to walk into the scene, which is what I really want to do.

The earth in this area is a very striking orange/red due to the soil and building materials originating from laterite rock which is a very rusty red in colour.
It is just on of many thousands of of ruined sites like this. This was at Bishnapur, nearby are some large historic Hindu temples.... all very red

The red looks as I saw it, I calibrate my monitor weekly, it was last done on Wednesday. Just to be on the safe side I have recalibrated it again, nothing changed.

No other perspective Frank, I was walking back to our transport with a group of people after attending a dedication service at a school.

The stone ages well and even then there is still a serenity and calmness about the temple. I like your composition.

Makes me want to walk up to it and look inside.
