I am hoping that this photo translates a little better onto the UHH site. My last post showed less detail than I was seeing on my monitor and some of you thought it took away from the overall shot. I reviewed my monitor settings and made some changes. This was a raw file PP'd in Lightroom and the result run through Fusion to flatten it just a little. Let me know what you think.

Yes, it's a sunset, but the Landscape aspect is even more appealing. A very nice wide angle shot.

Thanks Tom. I have to say you are very perceptive. While taking the picture it was about 35 deg F with no wind, the landscape seemed to almost ripple in the light, there were coyotes howling off to the right, ducks on the pond, early prairie flowers on the ground and a herd of Pronghorns wandering in and out. The experience was definitely about the landscape. The setting sun was the paintbrush that made it all work.

Thank you lensbaby. The prairie at this time of day is magical, it is nearly disappointing when the sun goes behind the mountains. But then a new kind of magic happens, the stars begin to come out and fill the sky. That was the real reason I was out on the prairie that day.

I appreciate your comment Linda. The vastness of the Wyoming prairies are what keep me going back. There is a beguiling and deceptive simplicity that is a tonic to my soul. I think I am beginning to understand why so many in earlier centuries endured such privation to live here.

Never too many sunset shots! This is a fine one. Love sunrise pics, too. However my wife says a Sunrise is just a sunset in reverse. If God wanted her to see a sunrise, He'd have to schedule it later in the day. Sending this response about 5:40 AM.

And, thank you for the further details.
