I've be taking pictures since I can remember. Learned a lot, mostly from talking to others. Love people who share criticism and techniques. Even met Ansel Adams in Yosemite, though I didn't know who he was at the time. And no he didn't share any of his secretes. Just encouraged me to shoot B&W.

Anyway I don't consider myself a professional, I just take pictures. Took classes, but in the end my teachers just told me to learn the books to pass the course, but shoot with what God has given me.

I joined google + and posted pictures to get feedback. Their statement was they were there is because photography is a fine art and it deserves a spot. OK? None of my pictures ever got any feedback. I soon found that only the popular kids got likes. Either that or my photo's do suck. Still my mom likes them.

What I want to know is this a fair sight or do I have to wait to be on the popular list to get answers?

Again I am not a pro, but my equipment is, got lucky with happenstances.

I only want honest answers and criticism. I am not looking to be a good old boy.

Welcome, and people here will give you your two cents worth, and then some!! But most are great and we all learn from each other. Just post some of your work, ask for comments, and wait. Some comments will come. Take all with a grain of salt......we have all kinds here. Most are very nice and helpful.

Welcome to the forum.

If you look at the main page you will see the various sections. Photo analysis is where you will get feedback. Post processing will also answer questions.

How good the critique is may be open to question, 'Nice' is not 'helpful'. However there is a wealth of skill and experience here as well as a rapidly growing number of cell phone users and new DSLR and mirrorless users.

The skill is in asking questions that you want answered and posting 'downloads' of your images so that members can really look at your images. It also helps if you post them to the correct section!

Explore the site and get a feel for those 'regulars' that have insight.
