This bird is most often rooting around on the ground, uncovering things to eat that are under fallen leaves. It is less often found perching from tree branches. Your picture is a fine one.

I believe you did. They seldom ever get on a limb where they are not obstructed by a lot of small twigs. Very lucky getting this one to pose for you.
We have a couple males that visit every day. I always call them Mr. Handsome.

Nice picture. Where does one find a bird like this? I've never heard of a Towhee.
