I've been watching "Haven" on Netflix, and the scenery is outstanding. The story is set in Maine, but it's filmed in Nova Scotia. It's a 14 hour drive, so it would be two days there and two days back, plus time in NS. Years ago, we went there from ME on the overnight ferry. New they have a new, fast ferry, but it costs almost $200 each way, and the sailing times aren't good. I've done an online search, and there is a lot to see in NS. When we were there the last time, we visited the Titanic Museum, and I learned that someone with my last name - Curtis - worked in the engine room. I guess he didn't make it to NS.
If I go there, you can be sure I'll take and post lots of pictures.
Have a good trip and we wait for your nice posts. Do not forget your polarizer and ND lenses ! Thanks.

As I said, I'm
thinking about it. Since I'll have my car, I'll bring everything.
If you do, be sure to see Peggy's Cove. Yes, it's a tourist trap, but go early and you'll beat the busses. It's worth it. Also, Cape Breton Island has some beautiful shoreline.
We also found the new high speed ferry to have unfavorable hours, so we flew from NJ to NS and then rented a car. It was a VERY scenic trip with the highlight being the Cabot Trail. Glorious sunset at Peggy's Cove was stunning. We also combined NS with a trip to PEI which was also gorgeous. Enjoy!!!

Yes, we stopped by Peggy's Cove the last time. Unfortunately, they were having a memorial for the people who died in the plane crash in September 1998. Bus loads of people and news cameras.
There are lots of beauiful, small coves with cottages, lobster traps and lobster boats to photograph. NS is an enjoyable place to visit and especially with a camera.

Two Words..."PEGGY'S COVE!" That's all I'm saying.

Two more words: "Thank You."
Don't take the ferry, drive the New Brunswick coast around the Bay of Fundy to Nova Scotia. There's lots to see and photograph all along there.

Halifax is an interesting City. In the New Brunswick area a trip to Hopewell Rocks is a must see. When the tide is out you can walk along the sea floor and be dwarfed by the HUGE rock formations. As mentioned, Bay of Fundy is a photogenic area. Gas is pretty expensive. It was around 1.36 per liter when we were there in 2013. I think the dollar is much better now. We were there 11 days and it rained two times.* the first 5 days, and the last 6 days.
Been wanting to get there myself. If you decide have a great trip.

Lucky! Only two rain events!
If I go, I'll bring my Olympus Tough.
