i was digging and trying to loosen the dirt in this big pot and thought
i'd hit a big rock. it wasn't a rock. this little frog hopped up out of the
dirt and almost caused me to jump out of my boots! he stayed right
where he was for about 15 minutes, blinked his eyes a few times,
and before I could blink he was gone.

I cannot tell a lie...I did hit him and thought it was a rock. Maybe that's the reason he looked so toadly dazed for a few minutes. Lol.

He was probably hibernating and woke up thinking..."is it Spring already", I don't recall getting knocked in the head last Winter".
Well, all ended well anyway....a fun and enjoyable story as I sip my morning coffee and juice. I must say it brought a smile to my face. Probably not as big a smile as this little toad had after he got away.

*Whew!* I'd wondered what had become of Prince Humperdink, last seen arguing with the lovely Miss Morningstar over the resolution of his quest for revenge. He should have known better than to argue wih a dark lady...

Nice shots of him, tho! I'm sure his parents will be glad to know he's okay.

Really neat shots MT, I hope you've fully recovered from the event. Beneficials like this are always a welcome addition to the garden.

A fun story and photos for you, traumatic for the amphibian I'm sure. Glad it didn't end up in more than one piece
