It's back to film for me. These were my favorites. I really only want fully and correctly working models that are cosmetically in really nice condition. Yes, I can buy them all on eBay, but I thought I would see if any Hogs had any.
Thanks. Paul

The OM 2n would be the best choice of the three, wonderful camera. If you could get an OM 4T they are the pinnacle of Olympus' MF film cameras.

Thanks, but I have had an OM4ti, and found I preferred the 1n or 2n or even the xd11.

If you can't find what you're looking for here, there's a company here in Columbus called World of Photography that sells a lot of used equipment at very reasonable prices. The last time I was there they had several OM bodies. Their website is: https://www.worldofusedphotography.com/. Good folks.

The OM-1n is/was a mercury PX625 battery and the work around alternatives to that NLA battery are not reliable. You can have it converted by John Hermanson at Zuiko.com who still rebuilds the OM's. The OM-2n uses readily available batteries but finding one with a reliable meter is getting hard. It is the best of the lot, particularly if you use it manually with a hand held meter.

The XD11, which in the home market was simply the XD, and in the European market was the XD7 uses the same batteries as the OM-2n, but the program mode system is complex and who fixes them... don't know? I have three, none reliable.

The OM3 and OM4 suffer in great numbers from the chronic "battery drain" problems and the circuit board fixes are gone. In fact a lot of them have been robbed from the OM-4T that have suffered other other fatalities. A good OM-4T is very hard to find and often expensive. That leaves the OM-2n as the most likely candidate, or the OM-1n that John Hermanson has been able to convert to the 375 batteries that run the OM-2n and the questionable XD11. The last OM-2n's (2) I have had were off a couple of stops on the meter, so I used them with a Gossen digital light meter.

I am about to send a black OM-1n to John at Zuiko.com. I have a flaky XD11 that is a good looker, but don't know where to send it for removing the flakiness.

Plus 2 for John H.

I have an OM-1, an OM -1n and an OM-2n that John Hermanson rebuilt (he doesn't just CLA them) and all three are perfect.

The "1" with a grey Griptac skin John applied is my favorite film camera.

Sorry, not for sale. 😇
Rick

Thanks for the John H. kudos. My failed OM-1 is black (hard to find in all black). Based on your comments, I think I will wrap it up today and send it out to Zuiko.com for the rebuild. In fact, why not right now????

I do have a nice OM2n black body still works. Good working condition with 1:1:4 50mm and a couple shoes remote release. Since it is black there is some paint worn off from carrying it. But as far as I know it works well. Was by far my favorite camera. Was so poor I didn't put more than a few dozen rolls through it. If you're interested I can get you pics. I know what they go for on eBay and couldn't bare to part with it. I have other stuff for it but still use the bounce flash with grip but would consider selling everything I have if the price is ok. bruceweight@gmail.com

Hi, and thanks for your reply. My concern is "...as far as I know it works well." I am looking for one that I know works well without having it repaired. I need that assurance. Paul

Ok to be sure. I may have to get back to you. It has been packed away and hasn't been used for quite some time. It was working good when I put it away. I have had it out recently and it all seemed to work. But maybe I should run a roll through it to make sure it still goes. I have some old print film and could run some through it. Beautiful camera I loved the 1 and 2n cameras small and solid built. Not sure who develops film these days?

Hello again and thanks. My main concern is the accuracy of the meter, and presumably you have something you can use to check that. I have had a history of inaccurate Olympus meters. Secondly, do the shutter speeds "seem" accurate. Next, seals and mirror foam. Then dents. Worn paint is ok, dents are not. Then, how clean is the finder. This too, has been an Olympus problem. And what do you have to go with it--lenses, accessories, etc. and their condition. And, finally, would you put a price on everything, including shipping to Wisconsin. Thanks again. Paul

I will have to give it a good check. Explain mirror foam and seals for me. I have a good light meter and can check it against a good gray card. I am totally tied up right now but will get it checked out. If in the meanwhile you find something else no problem,. I need to get it checked out so I can give a qualified answer on
It.

No Hurry. The mirror foam is the two little pieces in the corners in the mirror box that the mirror hits when it flips up. They simply need to be there. When you open the back, if the edges of the back feel gooey, those seals need replacing.
