Along Idaho's Snake River.
Great stuff, Mike. Those look to be near the upper reaches of the Snake. Brings fond memories of our time in Idaho. We visited the Snake River many times, just south of Boise. There is also a road that parallels the Snake River, south of Boise, called Map Rock Road that comes out near Marsing, Id. It's called that because about midway, there is a large rock with pictographs on it, nearly 1000 years old, that scientists determined to be fairly accurate map of the entire Snake River. Thanks for sharing and bringing back of great memories, Mike.
Thank you very much my friend, I don't remember where these were taken, I spend about 10 days around Idaho on my way up to Montana. My favorite spot was around Stanley since I love mountains. I once got lost out in the farming country and I waved down an old farmer for directions, when he saw my California License plate, he kept talking that only a Californian could get lost out here, all crazies come from there he said, it was hilarious, as I drove away I still heard him saying, only a nut could get lost out here. I thought it was such a funny encounter.
Just a point of interest, someone posted a couple pics of the snake, below Mike's first post. The first one showed a building across the river. That's the Swan Falls Dam, below Boise. It was built in the early 1900's to provide electrical power to the mining community of Silver City in the Owyhee Mountains, further to the south. I don't believe it's till functioning as a hydroelectric source, but rather serves as a sort of museum, and the area bordering the north bank of the river there is a nice park. Interesting place.
Brilliant set Mike, they converted well,
Geoff

Just scanned these from slides, taken about 25 years ago.
mike,
what is the building structure across the river? It looks like a power plant? I grew up in the snake river canyon but don't recognize this.
