Swimming portable logging camp in Southeast Alaska.

You wouldn't find many deteriorating barns in Alaska, but here is something similar. These portable logging camps were built on big logs like a raft so they can be towed by tug boats from on logging side to another. I am not sure why this camp was left to decay, no more logging or what? I taught it's unique, so I took some pictures.

Thank you very much, it was about one hours boat ride from Juneau.

Excellent series Mike. This is a part of Alaskan culture that does not get much visibility.

Thank you very much Tom, logging used to be big in Alaska, I am not sure it still is, I think fishing and tourism are #1.
