I'm ready to dump 2 HP printers and buy one wireless ink tank printer from either Canon or Epson. Preferably an 3 in one cause I need it for home use (and fax seems to be old hat these days). But one that might even print a "decent" photo or two. I have a costco not that far away for any big jobs I would want. I have found that you really have to do a search to find out the dimensions of some of these things. It's as if that shouldn't be an important factor when buying one. I lean towards Canon cause I know that they have excellent customer service. thanks for your help. Oh yes. I have two Mac computers

You might look at the New Epson ET 2550. My old,, all in one printer, quit the same time they released this new printer. $250.00 at Sams Club.
This new printer uses ink in bottles not cartridges, The ink that comes with the unit will last two years, so the say. You will save a bundle on inks. There are about 3 models each one is about $100. more . The more expensive ones will hold more then one original. I was a little worried about color quality compared to my R2000. Not to worry. While maybe not quite as good as my R2000, it is close. I copied the back of a National Geographic ad in full color. Then printed it with my new Epson ET 2550. The print was better than the original and very close to the print from my R2000. It you want to print 31/2 X 5 prints to hand out you can't go wrong with this printer. The print has been setting in my car under full hot sun for a couple of months.. No change in print quality. I only wish I had spent a little more for bigger unit. By the way you get an extra black bottle of ink in the box. [no charge]

I gave up on HP about 3 years ago and bought a Cannon MX922 and have been happy with it. It has nice print quality and a very nice scanner. It also has fax capability but I do not use that. The print cartridges are a bit pricey but I don't print all that much so that is not a major issue for me. i like it much better than the previous HP printers. I use it with a Win7 PC.

Canon do a A3 printer sub £100 - does not have a scanner.
Tried a 3 ink printer lasted 10 minutes and went back....
Their A4 printer is good too
you can buy refilled ink cartridges and save money. Mine have always used them.

For business use we use a canon laser A4 size printer. Again we use re-filled toner cartridge ok ....Lasts about 9 reams of paper per refill.

Have fun

I have an old Dell Computer with Windows 10. I installed the Epson ET2550 my self. No problems with it then or since then. I think this is a great printer. I am 89 years old so I am not too computer literate but every thing went well. This printer will only print 8X10s/ or smaller. I am totally pleased with the quality of this printer. I am using Red River paper Glossy paper.

Canon MX920, under $100. Does a nice job with photos as long as you set up the printer to print glossy photo paper and your monitor and printer are calibrated right. The ink cartridges I use are 3rd party, available on Amazon, and cost about $1.00 apiece. These cartridges are filled full, last a long time, and never plugged the printer at all. Printer is wireless as well.

Consider a Canon Pixma Pro 100, at this time only $129.99 at B&H and possibly elsewhere after a mail in rebate, offer listed as good until 2/28 although I think they've had it for most of the past few months. This is a photo printer only with many very satisfied photo users. It uses 8 ink cartridges which are expensive if from Canon. The price before rebate is $379.99.

That's an excellent 13" max width photo printer, and you can't beat the price. I routinely make 13x19 prints and the quality is first rate. The inks are not inexpensive if purchased from Canon however

Epson puts their code word of "Expression" in the name of a couple of their 3 in 1 printers where it is intended that they can print photos well. They will use a photo inks in more tanks than office printers.

An example is this one: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1180265-REG/epson_c11ce82201_expression_pht_xp_960_all_n_one.html

I have a lot of prints done outside (Costco and others) but I do a lot my self. I use two printers one is B & W printer the other is a photo printer. The B& W is a Samsung with a large cartridge for cost effective B W printing (Mine was about the cost of the cartridge and paid for itself in ink cost many times) the color I would advise looking into the Canon 100 or 10 series (have many deals) or the Epson 1430. The all do from 4X6 to 13X19 well. Canon have the best support around but Epson is OK but depends on how good the tech is with the English language.

For true "photo quality" color prints a printer needs to have a minimum of 6 ink colors: Cyan, Light Cyan, Magenta, Light Magenta, Yellow and Black.

For neutral B&W prints, even more ink colors are needed.... often Gray and Light Gray are added.

Most "all in one" printers only have 4 colors.

Especially avoid any printer that has multiple colors per cartridge. Some all-in-one do this, too and it leads to a lot of waste. It's best when each color is a separate tank that can be replaced individually when a color runs out.

Got to give Epson credit that they appear to be trying to address one of their biggest problems with their "Eco-Tank" printers.... Those have much bigger ink tanks that last a lot longer and aren't terribly expensive to replace. I don't know if they are doing this with any of their 6-color or more photo quality printers, though.
