Spent the afternoon yesterday at Longwood Gardens Orchid Extravaganza. A perfect day to be there. Perfect weather, no crowds, wonderful color to brighten up a drab winter day.

Yes, that does look like that would be a great place for photographing Orchids. I have a few "orchid" favorites in CA where I live (as noted in another recent post). Two places close-by. I guess I should post some of my better ones. Well, someday.
Shoot a lot more at your Orchid Extravaganza.

Nice shots of one of my favorite places to go with a camera. It is where I first became interested in photography while watching a classmate shooting film. ( '71-'75). Try to get there whenever in PA. Nice shots that are well composed. Last one is superb. Never noticed the black orchids before. Haven't been there in a year and a half.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. I believe the black ones are new this year. They're a hybrid and their name is "After Dark". thought they were just so neat.

love Longwood... was there for Christmas.... was 10 degrees out and windy ... inside was wonderful as always but could not stay outside as long as we would have if it would have only been a "little" warmer, maybe 25 degrees

We were there at Christmas time, too. The day we went we had to park across the street and be shuttled over by school bus. Ugh! So crowded! Beautiful tho, but this time was so much better.
