looking for a new lens 28-70 II or ......

So I've been looking at getting another lens and have come across one that piques my curiosity. Its an old 28-70 3.5-4.5 ii that seems to have decent reviews. It falls within my most used focal lengths and can be had for a decent (sub $100) price. I was just wondering if anyone had experience with this particular lens and how does it stack up against some of the modern lenses in that focal range?

I have the EF 28-70mm f/3.5-4.5 and the EF 28-70mm f/3.5-4.5 MK II in my collection. For my needs I find them to be very decent lenses. I used them on my EOS 650s and EOS RTs and now on my EOS 40D and EOS 50D.
No complaints at all.

What are the differences between the 2 if any at all?

I have several lenses, but the Canon 24-70 is on my camera 95% of the time.

I had the older Canon 24 - 70 f/2.8. Fabulous!! I sold it and now have the II version. Even more fabulous!! It's on my 5D MIII most of the time. I'm sure you can find used or refurbished models. Can't go wrong, but they are pricey!!
