An assortment of sailing photos. Most taken in Santa Barbara channel but the twelve meter is sailing Newport harbor in Rhode Island. The small sailing dinghy is sailing Pelican harbor, Santa Cruz Island. Last photo is of some bored spectators.
...these are great...I love the color of the sails against the sea...
Lot of excitement as one casually sails. Great photos. Love the serenity that sailing provides. Really do like the last photo of some great sailers enjoying the last hours of sunshine after a long day on the water. Mahalo for sharing.
Good set (from one who used to sail).

Very nice and thanks for sharing (from another old sailor - sold my last boat after my 2nd heart attack - still miss it)

We are experiencing the same....my husband's health is requiring us to put our 34 foot Catalina up for sale this month. Sailing is such a beautiful and relaxing thing to do....we will miss it terribly.
Excellent set and really enjoyed!

Thanks for sharing these beautiful pics. Sailing is my favorite thing to do.
I see others are in the same boat! Having to give up the wonderful, beautiful world of sailing. My fondest memory is sailing single handed off our local coast with a mild wind under just a jib. There was just the sound of the water trickling past and I was joined by about 6 to 8 dolphins swimming around my bow. I stood up watching and remember calling out to no one except perhaps Father Neptune, "I wouldn't be dead for quids".
Other sailors will understand.

Beautiful sailboat shots, phv! Most of their sails are so colorful! Love your last shot! :)
Gets my "seal" of approval
