I was one of the original backers of this project. We expect delivery in April sometime. I don't think it was billed to "Take the place of your DSLR." I believe they said it would make your iPhone work like a DSLR. Simply by having control over most functions your iPhone camera. I'll be listing a personal review on it when I get it.
In the meantime....I'll continue to use my Nikon D5200 and my Nikon p-520 etc. I do use my iPhone quite bit too.
You are absolutely correct. I sincerely apologize. Miggo has not said the Pictar grip would replace your DSLR. Some reviewers have made casual comparisons to emphasize its features, but I cannot quote them. I will be more careful about using these quotation marks in the future as the controversy over "Fake News" now demands accuracy in reporting. I already have an OlloClip lens set to add some more versatility and fun when it arrives. I'll look forward to your review. Thanks.
