Hello All,

My name is Rhonda and this is my first time on a forum like this. I took the opportunity of joining to hopefully learn from some of you. I take pictures for the fun of it and hopefully I will be able to make a hobby out of it. I am a small town Texas girl who loves horses, rodeos, nature and well just about anything nature. I absolutely love covered bridges, but unfortunately we do not have many of those in Texas. So if you have any covered bridges where you live I would love to see some pictures of them. I was at a local rodeo with a friends camera and just started taking pictures. My husband saw how much fun I had so he got me a Canon Rebel T6 for Christmas. I have yet to dive into the manual to learn about it as I am a little more stubborn than that as I just like to turn the knobs and capture my portrait as best as I can. I am a mother of two grown children and a grandmother of one, fixing to be two in May. I am open to constructive criticism so please be nice, but honest.

The first picture is of my horses on our place. We just let out the alpha horse from being penned up for a month so he had to reestablish the pecking order in the herd. I fell in love with the second picture of my alpha horse and tried my hand at making it a black and white. We had a local rodeo close to where I live and I just started taking pictures of everything that caught my eye. Some of these will end up on my wall and some not. Hope you enjoy and comments and suggestions are welcome.

Welcome to UHH, Rhonda, you can learn a lot from this sight. Your T6 is a fine camera for all the stuff you want to take pics of. The manual won't necessarily show you how to get the picture you want, just tells you what the various controls will do. If you study a little about composition and a few of the various rules of composition you will start to see a big improvement in your skills as a photographer. Take pics as often as you can and as many as you can and as many different subjects as you can. Post more pics here, ask questions and have fun.

You are off to a good start, read that manual and learn your camera and you will go a long way. You have an eye for composition, now learn what your camera can do.

Welcome to the forum. Here in PA there are over 200 covered bridges; probably around 20 within a 45 minute drive from my home.
