Since most everyone liked the shot of my favorite bridge, the wooden bridge, I thought I'd bounce this view off of you to see which you prefer. I've reposted the one everyone liked, too. Please let me know which you like and why, if you don't mind.

I much prefer the second one, Sue, mainly because of the better composition. The second one is more 'open' & you can see that the bridge is leading somewhere. JMO. Earl.

Sue, both are great but I love number one because my eye continues down past the bridge. The bridge is acting like a door to the other side.

I like the composition of the second one. To me the bridge seems to go on forever. Love the sense of adventure!

Very nice to have a special setting you enjoy for your own reasons, and it's a good reason to have a shot of it. I like image #1 because #2 looks like only a bridge with no other meaning. My sense would be to take advantage of a scene where you can flirt with general rules. Retake the bridge in #1 dead center with a wider angle lens to make the far ends of the bridge appear closer together which will improve the sightline to draw the viewer in and beyond (as noted by CLF). Just a suggestion..not criticism.

I prefer number 1. Because it tempts the viewer to guess as to what's on the other side. Composition, exposure or perspective are all less important to me than the mystery.
