Graham, beautiful treatment with tonality and exposure. It's a lovely subject, as well.

I don't get the beautifully piled up white fluffy clouds that you do, I have to make do with wild skies.

Nice image. I understand you're in the midst of a huge winter storm at the moment?

Thanks.
The storm is missing my part of the country... for now. We are forecast some snow for tonight but I think it will be very little if it does happen, it's rain/sleet with an icy wind. We seldom get the extreme weather that Northern England and Scotland do.
I feel the sky closing down on me - uncomfortable and unwelcome.
The worst parts of winter where I live are the low, featureless clouds and flat light. Very effective image from my pov, Graham.
Rich full tones. Love the range in the clouds.
i can only imagine what the original looks like

Dramatic sky, nice silhouette effect on the tree. Great detail in the foreground and the water. I really like it.

Good range of tones-beautiful shot.
Terrific shot. Love the sky and the tree placement in the shot.
Beautiful capture. Cloudy skies like yours are rare here.
Very atmospheric shot Graham, pp'd to perfection for this subject. Love the dramatic feel.
Perhaps a scene that most would walk/drive by daily and never notice the drama or beauty. B &W are perfect to show the contrast of the reeds and tree against marsh water. The clouds enhance the whole thing, allowing the eyes to focus on that tree that has such a wonderful twisted shape. what some would see as desolate, wasteland, you have made enviable.
Nice work with the black and white.

This knocked my socks off at first glance.
As per usual (for me) composition is impact...and this epitomizes that concept.
The black willow is swept up in the contribution of its trunk's base as the basis of the whole image....all radiates from the base of the tree and hence the cohesion of the whole image
In any gallery this would be an immediate "stroll stopper"! A definite "grabber"!
