Nice set Tom...looks like you really got to see a lot while you were there

Thank you very much Jan for taking a look and for your comments. Yes, we did see quite a bit, but since we were limited on time, we just parked the car and walked to the different attractions. San Antonio is quite visitor friendly in that several of the main attractions are right in the downtown area within easy walking distance of one another.

Thank you very much Jim for looking in and commenting. I only used 1 lens for these, the one I call my "general purpose" lens. It is a Canon 18-200mm EF-S, f/3.5-5.6 with IS. This lens covers about 95% of my shooting needs.

Outstanding and thanks.

Between Christmas and New Year's Day we treated some out of town guests to a 1-day visit to San Antonio. With the driving time of 3 hours each way and spending about 8 hours there, it was a long day. But it was also an enjoyable day, and to top it off, I was able to capture some photos that I was pleased with. So here are but a few of the images that I was able to bring back from the Alamo City. Comments welcomed and I hope you enjoy.

PS: All photos hand held.

Thanks for the pictures. they are great. We had a Family Reunion in K.C. in July this year and decided to drive down to San Antonio and see the Alamo and the River Walk. Well we got to see the Alamo but a huge storm rolled in on us at the River Walk and Ran us out of there and sent us on our way back to Los Angeles. So thanks for the pictures to show us what we missed. We will be going back...

Thank you very much for taking a look and commenting. Sorry your visit to the River Walk got rained out, but now you have a reason to make a return visit.

One day is not nearly enough time to see S. A. and all it has to offer. You should have spread your wings a bit and checked out the north side of town - Sea World, Six Flags, Hemisfair Plaza, etc. And if you missed the Alamo, you should be spanked, as that is the one good place I like about S.A. It's a great place to visit, but I would not care to live there again. Hey, it's only 200 miles from Houston to S.A. and lots of folks drive it with no problem at all. Have fun.

Thank you for looking in and for your comments. Your are certainly right about 1 day not being enough to see all that SA has to offer. But we were with out of town guests who were on a time schedule, so 1 day was all that was available on this trip. As for the Alamo, in fact we not only saw it, but waited more than 30 minutes in line for the tour. Didn't take any pics at the Alamo, simply because of all the humanity around it. Since we were there on Dec 29th all the schools were closed and many folks were on vacation, so the crowds were much larger than usual. I have seen some of the other attractions in past visits, but this particular trip was mainly for our guests, and I know they enjoyed it immensely.
