yes julian. you can substitute or just leave them out. i don't always put the raisens in. you can
grind up frozen cranberries if you have any left over from the holidays and add them...makes the suet
look pretty and the birds like it. you can add some nuts, or dried cranberries ...just about anything.

Great shot, Merry. Let's call your photos from top down as 1,2,3,4,5; then I like the #4 the most. Reason: there's balance in it, very clean and sharp, the bird is off center a bit, enough food and details. Keep feeding and shooting, I guess both the birds and we benefit from that nice work. Oh, I would post some of my photos if someone has enough patience to show me how to do it. Thanks.
