......I just dealt w/Adorama and am less than impressed. ..

Thank you for posting - but I'd be grateful if you wouldn't mind emailing me directly: Helen@adorama.com with details so I can understand more about what went wrong. If we made a mess-up I'd like the opportunity to make it right....and of course to use any details you can share, to improve customer service to all of our valued customers.

B&H is by far the best company to deal with. Very quick service, no tax, no shipping charges. I have dealt with them for 25 years and have never had a problem. If you have to return an item there are no problems.

A friend is being published in Arizona Highways in March, and I'm going to present her with a gift card. She's a Canon user. I'm wondering if anybody who shoots with Canon has a preference between these two stores?

I'm asking only because when I bought my computer monitor a couple of years ago, Adorama didn't even offer it. I realize that in terms of prices, service, and reliability, they are in a dead heat. But I'm asking to find out if one is considered stronger than the other in terms of selling Canon products. They're probably even there as well, but I just want to be sure.

Thanks in advance for any responses.

I use both, but mostly B&H for their customer care. However, sometimes B&H doesn't have what I want or Adorama has a better "package". I haven't used customer care at Adorama so I can't comment there. Price-wise, they are in a dead heat as well as local stores. I think brand names determine the price regardless of who sells it.

Personally, I like to see and hold some items before purchasing. Our "local" store is 45 minutes away.

You can't go wrong either way
