It's my honor to have the last challenge of 2016 and pass it off to RR for January 1, 2017. I also ended 2015 with the challenge "Photo Goals for 2016" - where would you like to be, photographically, in one year. Irenejb will host a similar challenge later in January. Looking back, I had 3 personal photo goals: 1) acquire and improve editing skills 2) Improve and increase my number of black and white images 3) NO NEW software - learn what I had. A little hedge on #3 as I did upgrade to On1 PhotoRAW and added to presets in Lightroom as well as On1. I started 2016 with the first image and am posting the latest version. Folks, post your favorite, your best, your greatest achievements of 2016. Look back and see how far your skills have come.

Thanks, RR. How's your project coming along? Not much time to work on it I'm sure.

I did a lot of experimenting in 2016 and learned a lot about my iPhone thanks to the challenges. I am also now very comfortable with layering and find I did a large number of abstract images. The first two are versions of the folds of a carnation taken by iPhone. #1 placed well at the local fair.

Excellent Pat! I love them all! You have come a long way with your abstracts and using layers! I can see why #1 placed well...very striking...great use of light and shadows. Love the lines, color and texture of the last one! Beautiful!

One of the things that I set out to do was to show more of my work and learn how to prepare it for printing. I also worked on abstract art. I did manage to prepare and print many new abstracts which sold and several got awards. It has spurred me on to keep moving forward. One of the things that I worked hard at was to make "bubbles" out of subject I was working on. I keep going back to my elements program for most of my work but have Smart photo Editor, Photo Shop and On1Raw now...and need to start learning it.

Those are so terrific! And it is fantastic that you've met a goal and SHOWED and SOLD! Inspiration for sure.

I was hired again to do promotional photos for a music camp. Searched the internet researching poses for something "different". Oddly, didn't find anything I'd already done but did combine a few ideas, had a lot of fun and came up with these. Director was very happy and the person who does her graphics (brochures, ads, website) was extremely complimentary of my images. The kids really had fun participating in these "photo adventures" - something that greatly contributed to the success. The goal was to be innovative, appeal to youth, and give a "feel" for the camp environment.

Nice group, Pat! Ambitious Goals-good for you! I'm not as organized but I do think I've improved even if if just by continued snapping and reading about ways to improve. I think it's too bad that we can't

include web sites in our UGH posts because it makes it so much easier to demonstrate how you obtain success! There are other ways to do it but I,for one, miss the lazy man's way to learn. I 'll be back with

some favorites from this year soon! Thanks for hosting,Pat, thoughtful subject!
