Sony a6000 raw better in Capture One or Lightroom?

As we know there are many sources of answers to "how to's" for Lightroom (LR ) from magazine articles to YouTube videos and complete books. Plug for Scott Kelby's, they are excellent. Sadly, not much in any format for Capture One (C1) So by resorting to the only option I seem to have at my disposal I'm working my way through GALE course work and re-reading Scott's books on LR.
Here is the catch. When I could not get my camera to connect for tethering using LR. A fellow UHH member alerted me to the fact that C1 does it seamlessly. So taking advantage of super low pricing for Sony users I bought C1 and started shooting tethered.
I was blown away with how superior the shots were looking. I then tried to apply some science after shooting a variety of locations and lighting situations. LOoking at them twice, once in LR and again in C1 I had material to cover the screen borders so the evidence of which program was being used to display was covered up by my assistant, yes I wish, actually it was my very patient wife. In all cases I picked out the superior display to be done in C1.
Not trusting my old eyes, I then repeated the process with several club members giving me their assessment.
Recently I read that Sony and Phase One, parent co. Of C1 are working closely whereas Adobe not so much.
Would you care to confirm or raise other observations or perhaps suggest a good source for learning about C1. I have tried their webinars, YouTube and their own channel and I guess as they say it is a preferred software for pros and I sure am not one of them
Thank you.

Yes... I agree with your observations cyclespeed. I get superior processing results on my Sony Raw files with Capture One compared with LR, PS, On1Raw, etc. Their Raw engine is obviously tweaked to work very well with Sony Raw. Yesterday, I set up Capture One to automatically apply my preferred 'style' settings to all the Raw files when they are imported into Capture One which gives me a great starting point and really speeds up my post processing workflow.

CO has created their own profiles for cameras and lenses instead of relying on the manufacture's info. In some cases the manufacture's info is good and CO will use it then. This is why CO is a superior program to LR. I know several photog who have left LR for CO.

The CO webinars and youtube channel give you a lot how to information abou the program.

CO 10 being that latest and greatest version.

Yes, no argument, C1s rendering looks great right off the bat and less work in post.

I tried Phase One's Capture One (C1) along with several other popular photo image processing softwares a couple years ago when Apple announced the end of Aperture. IMHO C1 beats the pants off of some of the other softwares when it comes to rendering the image. I found it saved time for me as less or sometimes nothing was needed with C1 where I had to spend time to get the same "punch" with other softwares. C1 images were more vibrant, sharp, more contrast, more "pop". Adobe ny comparison looks flat. Especially for .NEF files.

But there is more to editing software than the initial rendering. Such as support, for new cameras, operating system updates, bug fixes, etc.

I bought C1 and a year of the Adobe CC Photographers special and used them both for a year. I quit using C1 after I bought a new camera and Phase One did not support it nor would they. They wanted me to purchase a new version. Meanwhile Adobe provided a CC update (free) to ACR that included my new camera. Much better service. That was the deciding factor for me. Sometime after that C1 quit working after an operating system (OS) update. Adobe released a CC update before the new OS came out. There were no issues. I like the real time updates I get with the CC. I feel Adobe wants my business and they provide a good value product. I haven't looked back.

Thanks for posting this. I forgot I had C1 on my old Mac. Started it up this morning it works well. Since I do have a Sony a6000 I will test it out. I also have Affinity and have been learning that program as well. And, when I am in a hurry, I still rely on LR. When retired, one has time to learn and learn and learn. Fun.
Now I need to go buy a camera!
