I did this carving of a White Throated Nuthatch, a few years ago. Its carved in basswood, painted with acrylics and the legs of made of copper. The limb it's on is also carved. The leaf is made from brown wrapping paper. Its one of my favorite birds.
How talented and gifted you are.
Beautiful.

Dlevon, fantastic, etc, etc, .... Words do not describe this carving. I had a friend at IBM that was a talented carver and after the mass retirements lost track of him, anyhow I love your talent or is it the results of your talent.

Fantastic work...very talented!
Nice work, both photo and carving, Bob.
I'm jealous of your carving skill! Very nice.
Wow, that is beautiful. I love the idea that you carved the limb and made the leaves as well. Impressive work!

That's exactly what I was thinking, I've tried.
For all of the wonderful posts and comments, I Thank you. Just for info, I started carving over 30 years ago as a hobby to go along with my birdwatching. I taught woodcarving for over 25 years and specialized in bird carving. I have done many of my birds on commission and exhibited in many wood carving shows. I'll try to post a carving every once in a while just for fun. I just don't seem to be as prolific as I used to be when I was a lot younger. LOL Again, thanks again for all the wonderful comments.
